Gilbert Smith shared a house with Josh Samman during their time together on The Ultimate Fighter.
Smith reported on Wednesday morning that Samman has passed away. Late last week, Samman was found in a Florida home with another friend, who was confirmed dead at the scene. No other information has been released regarding the incident.
Samman was 28 years old and went 12-4 in his MMA career. He last fought in July, losing to Tim Boetsch.
Shortly after his Instagram post, Smith apologized for making the news public without checking to see if the Samman family had done so yet.
