At Sunday’s WWE Hell In A Cell, Charlotte was victorious over Sasha Banks to win back the Women’s Championship in Banks’ hometown of Boston, MA. It was only decided late last week that Charlotte and Banks would be the main event, and that wasn’t the only last-minute change relating to the Women’s Title match.
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio on Monday that the original plans for last night’s Women’s Title match called for Sasha to win over Charlotte. Much like the original plans for SummerSlam earlier this year, that finish changed and Charlotte went over Banks instead.
Meltzer noted that Vince McMahon made the call to change the finish. The WWE Chairman reportedly wants to move into a Charlotte vs. Bayley feud sooner than the creative team originally planned for.
