It looks like Mickie James impressed the right people in her match with Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Toronto. Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that according to “multiple sources with direct knowledge,” James has been staying in touch with WWE the last couple weeks and was told that there’s a deal waiting for her to sign if she wants to return.
Probably the biggest potential hiccup would be that James has not been wrestling anything close to full time in the last few years since she gave birth to her son. With her husband, Nick “Magnus” Aldis, also being a working pro wrestler, that would seemingly make a main roster deal less likely unless they’ve agreed to make a change if there was a prospect of WWE signing either one of them.
