Anderson Silva has respect for most of what UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has accomplished.

But “The Spider” might be most impressed with Bisping’s ability to light the fire via social media, especially Twitter.

Last year, Silva lost a decision in England to “The Count.” While he has been unable to secure a rematch since, he’s kept a watchful eye – and quick posting skills – on Bisping since.

“Actually, he is controversial,” Silva said in an interview with Brazilian news outlet Combate. “Every now and then, he posts something, taunts. I actually shouldn’t keep up with the pace of his taunting, but it’s funny because people follow us on Twitter, and it’s cool, because they end up interacting. It’s nice, in a level, because it’s healthy. We are not attacking each other. Although he sometimes crosses the line, it’s healthy. And I think it’s important for the fans to have that interaction of taunting each other a little bit, within our limits and what we feel is right.”

Silva returned last July on short notice and fought Daniel Cormier in a non-title match, falling to the current UFC light heavyweight champion. While the 41-year-old is currently fight-less, he has maintained his skills in training, looking at a bout in Brazil this summer for his return.
