Tomoaki Honma, one-half of the World Tag League Champions last year with Togi Makabe, was badly injured in a match on Friday.

Honma landed wrong when taking a DDT from Jado and had to be stretchered out of the arena. Immediate concerns were that he suffered a spinal injury.

NJPW recently sent out an update on the situation, that has been loosely translated to English. Honma does not have full use of his arms but can grip objects, and does have feeling in his legs. The injury was believed to be to the 3rd and 4th vertebrae.

Honma is still in hospital as doctors do not want anything interfering with his spine. A full recovery, including an in-ring return, is possible however.
