The new owners of Impact Wrestling are “heavily downsizing” employees and scaling back on original content at the Fight Network. Anthem Sports and Entertainment swooped in to save Impact from the brink of bankruptcy. The Fight Network, another Anthem subsidiary, airs Impact Wrestling in Canada and to its app subscribers worldwide.
Fight analyst Robin Black, recently posted on his Facebook page about being laid off from the company. The concerning parts of Black’s post is the mention of heavy downsizing and scaling back on original content. This is just speculation, but Anthem’s large investment in Impact could be the cause for downsizing in other areas of their business.
More information will be available when it is known what other areas of Anthem’s programming is being scaled back as well.
