Tetsuo Sekigawa, better known in the wrestling world as Mr. Pogo, is being reported to have passed away in hospital in Gunma on June 23, noon time in Japan. He was 66 years old.
Pogo was undergoing surgery on his waist and his blood pressure declined and a cerebral infarction developed which in turn caused his heart to undergo arrhythmia. A former sumo wrestler turned pro-wrestler, Pogo found his home in FMW as a painted face villain. Known as the “Emperor of Death Matches”, he would go on to face Atsushi Onita specifically in numerous violent encounters.
