As noted, former GFW Knockouts Champion Velvet Sky recently revealed in an interview with WNPR that she had stepped away from pro wrestling in order to focus on going back to college at Post University.

“Wrestling has a shelf life. College doesn’t. You can be 50 years old and go to college for your degree. You can’t be 50 years old and train to be a pro wrestler. I’m in really, really good physical condition, still, and my health is great. And I want to keep it that way. I had a really satisfying 15-year wrestling career, so I went back to school because I got to live out my wrestling dream.”

Today, Sky took to Twitter to clarify that she is retired from in-ring action, but not from pro wrestling as a whole. She posted the following:

"Retired" was not the correct word to have been used in the article from yesterday. Please read my true & current status below. pic.twitter.com/52X174OUKv

I never used the word "retired." The headline of the interview I recently did was very misleading in saying I was retired from the industry. https://t.co/sMi2RqZmZy

Because the original interview was cut up & only certain parts were aired but I never use the word retired. That came from the interviewer.
