Sami Zayn’s real name is Rami Sebei. He was born in Laval, Quebec Canada, the son of Syrian immigrants who moved to Canada in the 1970s.

He grew up Muslim and speaks fluent Arabic, French and English. Zayn has spoken before of wanting to use his WWE fame as a way to dispel myths about muslims.

Yesterday he launched his “Sami for Syria” program, aimed at raising money for medical clinics in the war-torn country.

Today is a special day. Happy to launch #SamiForSyria!

Let's set up a mobile clinic in Syria!
