Smackdown Results - 6th Oct 2006

WWE Smackdown! Opener:
We start off tonight’s show with King Booker in the Royal Locker Room along with Queen Sharmell as he makes a proclamation. He says that he has been challenged at No Mercy for the World Title by a peasant named Bobby Lashley. Tonight, he gets to pick Bobby Lashley’s poison. He tells Lashley to get ready to go one-on-one with Batista. Bobby Lashley is in the interview area and he says that it would be an honor to get in the ring with Batista. Bobby has chosen a member of King Booker’s Court to face the champion tonight. Booker will face the man who loves to fight, Fit Finlay. This does not change what will happen on Sunday when he beats Booker for the World Title.


Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio vs. Gregory Helms and Chavo Guerrero
Referee: Charles Robinson

The start:
Chavo wants to start the match against Rey and Rey is ready for the match, but it was a trick as Helms starts off the match. Rey still wants to go after Chavo and that allows Helms to hit Rey from behind as the bell rings. Rey with a rana and then Rey tags in Hardy. Hardy punches Helms followed by a number of elbows and punches. Rey tags back in and he hits a springboard double sledge to Helms back.

Mid-match notes:
Helms charges into a boot from Rey but Helms with a high vertical spinebuster. Chavo tags in and he kicks Rey and hits a Latino uppercut. Helms tags back in and he slams Rey’s head into the turnbuckle. Helms charges into the corner but Rey hits a drop toe hold that sends Helms into the turnbuckles. Rey tags in Hardy and Matt clotheslines Helms and Chavo. Hardy with an Irish whip and a running clothesline followed by a bulldog but Chavo interferes. Rey goes after Chavo and Chavo sends Rey to the apron. Rey tries for a springboard move back into the ring but Chavo with a forearm that sends Rey to the floor. Hardy sends Chavo over the top rope to the floor. Helms with a jawbreaker and a running forearm followed by punches and a choke with his boot.

Helms with a choke to Hardy but Hardy gets out of the hold, but Helms is able to maintain control of the match. Chavo is tagged back in and he punches and kicks Hardy. Helms tags in and he kick and chokes Hardy. Hardy with a clothesline as Helms comes off the ropes. Chavo comes in and he is given a Side Effect for his troubles. Rey tags in and he hits a springboard senton on Helms and a running forearm to Chavo. Rey with kicks to Helms and Chavo. Rey tries for a springboard cross body on Helms, but Gregory ducks but he is still able to hit the move on Chavo. Rey with a satellite head scissors on Helms. Chavo with a sunset flip but Rey rolls through and he kicks Chavo in the head. Helms responds with a clothesline to Rey.

The Finish:
Hardy punches Helms and then he deals with Chavo. Rey with a rana off Hardy’s back that sends Chavo into the ropes. Hardy sends Helms into the ropes and it is time for a double 619 from Rey to both men. Hardy with a Twist of Fate to Helms and then Hardy with a springboard leg drop for the three count. We go to commercial.

Winners: Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio


Backstage:
We are back and Maryse welcomes us back to Smackdown in her lingerie.


Elijah Burke vs. Tatanka
Referee: Unknown

Before our next match, Elijah Burke gets on the mic and he says that with more than 100 wins in boxing, he is the only man crazy enough to spar with Sylvester Terkay.

The start:
Terkay pushes Tatanka at the start of the match and that allows Burke to get the early advantage. Burke misses a clothesline but Tatanka does not miss with chops. Tatanka slams Burke’s head into the turnbuckle and he follows that with a hard Irish whip, kick, and punch. Tatanka with a suplex for a two count.

Mid-match notes:
Burke with a knee to Tatanka off the ropes followed by forearms in the corner and a hard Irish whip and drop kick. Tatanka with hops and punches but Burke works on Tatanka’s midsection. Burke with a series of punches in the corner and then Burke with a kick to Tatanka’s ribs. Burke with a headstand into an elbow drop in the corner for a two count. Burke and Tatanka exchange punches until Tatanka gets the advantage with a chop. Tatanka with a flap jack followed by clotheslines and a chop to the top of the head. Tatanka with a Samoan drop and then he goes up top for a chop to the top of the head but Tatanka can only get a two count.

The Finish:
Tatanka with a punch to Burke followed by a side Russian leg sweep. Terkay gets on the apron to distract Tatanka and Tatanka punches Terkay, sending him from the apron. Burke hits Tatanka from behind and then the referee deals with Burk and that allows Terkay to punch Tatanka in the ribs. Burke hits the Stroke for the three count.

Winner: Elijah Burke

The Aftermath:
After the match, Terkay with a belly-to-belly suplex on Tatanka. We go to commercial.


Backstage:
King Booker and Queen Sharmell in the Royal Hallway as King Booker talks to Sir William Regal and Sir Fit Finlay. He says that Bobby Lashley thinks that he can put one over on the King by having him wrestle Fit Finlay. Bobby has no idea that the King’s Court is together. Booker tells Finlay to be a good knight and lie down for his King. Fit Finlay asks William Regal what he would do if asked to lie down for his King. Regal says that he would do it because of his priorities, but Regal realizes that he has an appointment. Finlay tells Booker that he did not make this match, Bobby Lashley did. As far a laying down, it is not going to happen. Finlay reminds Booker that he loves to fight. We go to commercial.

Non Title Match
Finlay vs. King Booker (c)
Referee: Nick Patrick

The start:
Finlay and Booker lock up and Booker backs Finlay into the corner and tells Finlay to lay down for his King. Sharmell goes for the shillelagh, but Finlay gets in the way. King Booker with a baseball slide and then he attacks Finlay on the floor. Booker sends Finlay into the ring steps and he tells Finlay to lay down for his King. Booker punches Finlay and follows it with chops.

Mid-match notes:
Finlay responds with a kick and clothesline followed by a knee to Booker’s head for a near fall. Finlay with a short arm clothesline for a one count. Finlay with a rear chin lock followed by European uppercuts and a kick to the lower midsection. Finlay slams Booker’s head into the turnbuckles and then he slams Booker’s throat into the apron. Booker is sent shoulder first into the ring post and Finlay kicks Booker in the head. Finlay with a rollup for a two count. Booker with a stunner to get out of a nerve hold. Booker with a spinebuster for a two count. Booker with a suplex for a two count.

The Finish:
Booker follows up with forearms but Finlay joins in the fun as they exchange forearms. Finlay with a thumb to the eyes. Sharmell trips Finlay and that allows Booker to hit a super kick. Little Bastard comes out from under the ring and he has a mouse in his hand that scares Sharmell. Booker gets distracted and that allows Finlay to get the shillelagh and he hits Booker in the leg to get the three count.

Winner: Finlay


Backstage:
Batista and Bobby Lashley are walking separately in the back as we go to commercial.


Pick Your Poison Match
Bobby Lashley vs. Batista
Referee: Jim Korderas

The start:
Batista and Lashley shake hands at the start of the match. Batista and Lashley lock up to a stalemate. They try a test of strength, but it is met with the same result. Batista with a side head lock while Lashley tries for a single leg move. Lashley with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Batista with a kick and punches followed by a shoulder tackle.

Mid-match notes:
Batista with another kick but Lashley gets out of the way when Batista appears to set up for the Batista Bomb. Lashley and Batista go face to face and Lashley with punches and then he tries for a slam but Batista blocks it. Batista with an elbow for a two count and then he has Lashley in a choke and body scissors. Batista with an Irish whip and running clothesline followed by shoulders in the corner.

The Finish:
Lashley returns the favor to Batista. Batista with a big boot to Lashley. Lashley gets Batista up for a running power slam, but Batista gets out of the hold. Lashley and Batista each with clotheslines and both men are down. From out of nowhere, Finlay enters the ring and he attacks Batista. The ref calls for the bell.

Winner by disqualification: Bobby Lashley

The Aftermath:
After the match, King Booker joins the fun but he goes after Finlay. Lashley and Batista fight. Eventually, Booker and Lashley battle while Batista and Finlay fight. Backstage officials come out to try to break things up. Teddy Long comes out and he has a mic. He tells all four men to stop. He says that it appears that all four men want to go at it real bad. There will be a World Title match, but it will not be a one-on-one match, it will be a Fatal Four Way with King Booker defending the title against Bobby Lashley, Fit Finlay, and Batista. We go to commercial.


Backstage:
King Booker is in the HollaOffice and he is livid at Teddy Long’s announcement for Sunday. Bobby Lashley enters and he is not happy either. Fit Finlay says that he can beat any of the men in the match. Batista enters and he shakes Teddy’s hand for making a good decision. Batista suggests that everyone get a long. Booker scoffs at Batista’s comments. Teddy Long says that there will be a tag match tonight with King Booker and Fit Finlay facing Bobby Lashley and Batista.


Sylvan vs. Jimmy Wang Yang
Referee: Charles Robinson

Jimmy Wang Yang comes to the ring for his match and it is time for pre-recorded comments from Jimmy. He says that as a redneck, he likes NASCAR, cold beer, and butt whoopings. He does not see any fast cars or cold beers, so it must be butt whooping time. We also see footage from last week when Sylvan defeated Jimmy Wang Yang.

The start:
Sylvan with a wrist lock but Yang reverses the hold. Sylvan with a forearm. Yang avoids a hip toss and then he hits a series of kicks. Yang with a chop to Sylvan followed by an Irish whip and a running kick that sends Yang to the apron and then Yang skins the cat back into the ring. Yang tries for a hip toss, but Sylvan blocks it and he hits a short arm clothesline.

Mid-match notes:
Sylvan with a bear hug but Yang gets out of the hold. Yang with a satellite head scissors and a back body drop. Yang with a kick to Sylvan’s leg followed by a DDT for a two count. Sylvan with a uranage from a belly-to-back suplex set up. Sylvan goes up to the second turnbuckle but when Sylvan comes off the turnbuckles he is met with a spinning heel kick by Yang and Yang gets a two count.

The Finish:
Yang with forearms but Sylvan with an Irish whip. Yang with an enzuigiri and he tries for a roll up, but Sylvan does not go over and he uses the ropes for extra leverage to get the three count. We go to commercial.

Winner: Sylvan</B></CENTER>


In the arena:
Tony Chimmel introduces Montel Vontavious Porter and he goes to the stage to address the crowd. He says that it is now official. This is his first public appearance as a Smackdown superstar. He wants to let everyone know that the world is changing and that there is not a better athlete on the planet than MVP. Porter says that it is an understatement to refer to himself only as a man. He says that MVP is the greatest athlete in history. History will be made on Sunday at No Mercy. Every time he steps into the ring, history will be made. He says that nobody is ready for the wrestling debut of MVP.

Mr. Kennedy:
We go to comments from Ken Kennedy. He says that the Undertaker made his career by messing with people’s minds. He won championships and defeated legends by playing mind games. He has locked men in caskets, carried them away in hearses, and buried men alive simply to intimidate. Last week, he came face to face with the Undertaker’s power. He came face to face with the hocus pocus, abracadabra, Houdini garbage that he does; and Kennedy says that he was not impressed. He says that he is not afraid of the Undertaker. He says that the phony parlor trick will not be enough to gain an advantage. The scare tactics mean absolutely squat to him. The people might be awed by it and they might think that Kennedy will be one of his victims, but there is nothing that he can conger will compare to the shock and awe that the people will experience when he pins Undertaker at No Mercy. The decade and a half of destruction is over and the future has arrived. The future is Ken Kennedy. We go to commercial.

Backstage:
We are back and Michelle McCool introduces her ‘A Plus Players’ KC James and Idol Stevens. She says that they will be the next WWE Tag Team Champions. James says that Kendrick and London are a cute, nice, little tag team. They have had some success on Smackdown, but on Sunday they will learn why him and Idol are the head of the class. Stevens says that not only will they take them to school, but they will take the title. Michelle says that she is going to give Ashley a lesson in physical education.


Ashley vs. Michelle McCool

The start:
Michelle with a kick and European uppercut and Ashley goes down. Michelle with shoulders to Ashley in the corner. Michelle with kicks and a choke in the corner and then she tosses Ashley by her hair. Michelle with a forearm for a two count. Michelle tries for a slam but Ashley gets out of the hold. Ashley sends Michelle into the ropes and Ashley hits a series of forearms to the lower back.

The Finish:
Ashley with an abdominal stretch into a rollup for a two count. Ashley with a single leg trip and then she puts Michelle in a Boston Crab. James pulls Michelle under the ropes to get the referee to get Ashley to release the hold. Ashley with a kick followed by an Irish whip and a monkey flip. Ashley with forearms. Ashley with a cross body but the momentum puts Michelle on top and she gets the three count. We go to commercial.

Winner: Michelle McCool


Marine Premiere:
We are back with footage from the premiere of The Marine. We see comments from some of the marines in attendance as well as some WWE Superstars.


King Booker and Finlay vs. Batista and Bobby Lashley
Referee: Nick Patrick

The start:
Finlay attacks Batista at the start of the match, but Batista backs Finlay into the corner and connects with elbows and shoulders. Batista with a suplex and Finlay rolls out of the ring. Batista with a clothesline to Finlay and the action returns to the ring. Lashley tags in and he hits a running shoulder tackle into the corner. Booker is tagged in. Lashley backs Booker into the corner and Booker with a thumb to the eyes followed by knees and punches.

Mid-match notes:
Lashley catches Booker on a float over attempt, but Booker gets out of the hold. Lashley is able to hit a spinebuster but Finlay breaks up the cover. Booker rolls out of the ring and Lashley goes after him. Booker sends Lashley into the ring steps and then he kicks Lashley. Booker with a back heel kick for a near fall. Booker runs Lashley into the corner and then he makes an emphatic tag to Finlay. Finlay with a short arm clothesline to Lashley but he only gets a one count. Finlay with a rear chin lock. Lashley with a forearm but Finlay with a clothesline.

Finlay follows with a senton splash for a two count. Booker is tagged back in and Booker kicks Lashley while Finlay holds Lashley. Booker with a snap mare and a basement drop kick for a two count. Booker tries for a suplex, but Lashley blocks it and he hits a suplex of his own. Finlay tags in and he goes after Batista and that draws the referee over to Batista while Finlay and Booker double team Lashley. Finlay with an elbow to the throat and then he throws Lashley out of the ring. Booker chops Lashley on the floor while the referee deals with Finlay and Batista. Finlay with European uppercuts, but Lashley punches back.

The Finish:
Finlay with a drop toe hold into a rear chin lock. Batista makes the tag, but the referee was dealing with Booker and he does not believe that Batista made the tag. Booker is tagged in and he chops Lashley and Booker tells Lashley that he is no more than a peasant. Lashley with a spear as he avoids a jumping side kick. Finlay and Batista tag in and Batista punches Finlay and Booker. William Regal come into the ring and the referee calls for the bell.

Winners by disqualification: Batista and Bobby Lashley

The Aftermath:
After the match, Batista with a running clothesline to Finlay followed by spinebusters to King Booker, Sir William Regal, and Bobby Lashley. Batista prepares to finish off Finlay but the Little Bastard comes into the ring for a low blow. Finlay with the shillelagh, but Batista avoids it and he hits a spinebuster. We go to credits.
