Douglas Lima isn’t dipping a toe outside the Bellator banner anytime soon.
Lima, who is the reigning Bellator welterweight champion, recently signed a six-fight deal with the promotion. MMAFighting.com got word of the signing from Bellator officials. Lima briefly commented on the new deal:
“Bellator is my home, I am excited to continue growing alongside the company.”
Lima successfully defended his 170-pound gold against Lorenz Larkin at Bellator NYC. He is expected to defend his championship against Rory MacDonald next. A date has not been determined for the title bout. “The Phenom” has a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) record of 29-6.
