We noted before how the current NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa is dealing with an injury, and he has been removed from some upcoming Live Events due to it.

Now Pwinsider has provided some update on his condition while also revealing that his status caused some changes into the script for this week’s episode of Raw.

While the severity of his injury is not known, according to the site, Ciampa is dealing with a neck injury that has forced him out of action in the last few days. Ciampa was expected to compete in an 8 men tag team on this week’s episode of Raw alongside his partner Johnny Gargano. These two would have been in the ring with Aleister Black & Ricochet, Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins and a fourth, unconfirmed team with the Raw Team Champions the Revival being on the ringside.

However, the NXT Champion’s injury caused these plans to be nixed. Black and Ricochet ended up facing The Revival while DIY were featured in a backstage segment.

No word yet on how long WWE expects The NXT Star to stay out of action. We’ll keep you posted on his status as new details on his condition come to light.
