Sasha Banks is believed to be in Orlando today filming content for the latest installment of the WWE 2K franchise. According to a report from PW Insider, Banks is in Orlando and taking part in filming for the video game which is due to be released in the fall.
Banks hasn’t wrestled for WWE since WrestleMania 35 in April. She is believed to be taking an extended period of absence but neither Banks nor WWE has made a public comment regarding her status.
Banks is said to have met with Vince McMahon at the end of May and there was talk at the time the former 4x RAW women’s champion could be back sometime this summer.
“Sasha Banks and Vince McMahon had a meeting on 5/23,” wrote Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer. “Things are said to be better and she could be back sometime this summer but nothing is official.”
Banks’ 4-horsewomen of NXT stablemate Becky Lynch is rumored to be on the cover of the WWE 2K20. Lynch spoke with ComicBook.com about possibly being the face of this year’s game:
“It’s just a matter of being the top player, the biggest face of this company,” Lynch said. “To make your name in this business, that’s what I want. That’s what I’m shooting for, and the video game cover would be a nice little stepping stone.”
