Former 6-time Champion Mickie James recently spoke to ABC 8 News in her hometown of Richmond, Virginia. James talked about a variety of topics including what made a country girl like her who grew up showing and riding horses want to become a pro-wrestler. She also spoke about her journey to become a pro-wrestler.

Mickie James revealed that it was, in fact, the Attitude Era of WWE that made her want to join WWE. James stated that the Attitude Era completely blew her away, and she was fascinated by the characters, and the spectacle of it all. She felt as though she could get lost in it.

The WWE Superstar then reminisced about starting her training at the local Kyda Pro Wrestling School at the age of 19, before she joined OVW and prepared for becoming a part of the WWE roster. Since then, Mickie James has solidified her legacy in WWE as one of the only three women to have held the Women’s Championship more than 5 times in WWE.

Apart from this, the 39-year-old also spoke about her musical journey and how she felt performing alongside acts like Rascal Flatts and Big and Rich. She said that she is grateful to be performing in front of an audience that appreciates her music.
