WWE is actively attempting to recapture their lost 18-34 year old demographic. Part of their plans to do so included hiring Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as Executive Directors.
The promotion is also looking to inject their on-screen product with fresh talent and young blood. This is one of the reasons Superstars like Ricochet have been given an opportunity and grander platform in recent weeks. Street Profits are another pair of WWE Superstars who have benefited from WWE’s latest efforts.
Although not yet embroiled in a main card feud, WWE is hoping to use the Street Profits as a way of enticing a younger audience back to RAW. This is why they have been appearing backstage.
Further, it appears as though the Street Profits are being allowed to do their segments live, according to PWInsider. The majority of backstage segments are usually pre-taped earlier in the day.
Part of the reason behind this decision is to allow them to infuse their promos with as much energy as possible.
The team are the current NXT Tag Team Champions. Despite their inclusion on RAW, they are not yet considered to be a part of the main roster. Rather, they are being utilized in a similar way that Aleister Black, Ricochet, Tommaso Ciampa, and Johnny Gargano were a few months ago.
