WWE has confirmed that Bayley will be defending her WWE Smackdown women’s championship at SummerSlam against Ember Moon. Bayley noted on Smackdown last night that she would like to face Moon after the two of them defeated Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in tag-team action. WWE has since confirmed the match will take place at SummerSlam in Toronto.
Moon challenging Bayley for the title is the 3rd confirmed match for SummerSlam. Becky Lynch is scheduled to defend the RAW women’s title against Natalya and Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins is also scheduled for the Universal championship.
“Week in and week out, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley has established herself as a truly inspirational titleholder, most recently with a successful title defense in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match against Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross at WWE Extreme Rules. Up next, she will look to stop an absolute force of nature when she battles Ember Moon at SummerSlam. Could a championship Eclipse be on the horizon?” a WWE press release for the match asks.
Bayley has already defended her title twice since winning it at Money in the Bank last month. She has defeated Alexa Bliss at Stomping Grounds and then defeated Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross at Extreme Rules.

Bayley’s only other women’s title reign on the main roster topped out at two title defences on WWE programming in 2017. She won the title from Charlotte Flair on the February 13th, 2017 RAW, defended it against Flair at Fastlane 2017, then defended it in a 4-way match that WrestleMania before dropping it to Alexa Bliss at Payback 2017.
