We might not see anymore “Wild Card” rule as it concerns RAW and Smackdown Superstars appearing on other brands come October. According to a report heard on Wrestling Observer Radio, the plan is to enforce the brand-split more strictly once Smackdown moves to Fox in the fall.

“It is essentially: the rosters that we have now that we are not adhering to at all are going to be adhered to in October,” said Dave Meltzer on the show in regards to WWE’s brand-split. He would continue to speculate that this could change if the ratings are down, however.

“Right now, the theory is that we are back to what we had before come October,” he continued.

The current rules of WWE’s brand-split are a little vague. Superstars are assigned to either RAW or Smackdown but a limited number of Superstars from one show can appear on the other show. This number was once limited to 4 but it’s not clear if that limit is still in effect. The addition of the Wild Card rule has led to some house show cancellations on Monday nights as well.

All of WWE’s PPV events are dual-branded currently as well.
