WWE has been trying to counter-program AEW’s shows with network special events. With AEW planning to broadcast its weekly show on Wednesdays, the two companies will be in direct competition because NXT currently also airs on the same day on WWE Network.

WWE Hall Of Famer Scott Hall recently spoke to WrestlingInc where he talked about a number of things and during the interview; he also discussed the implications of WWE’s development brand going head to head with the upstart promotion.

Hall said that he has changed his mind and he now thinks that putting up NXT against AEW would be the best idea. He made a comparison with McDonald’s, saying that if you see one it’s likely that you will find Burger King or Wendy’s right next door:

“If you believe in your product, then you put it right up against the guy. I’m coming in right next door and we’re gonna compete for the money. It makes everything sharper and better,”

Hall also talked about his recent visit to the performance center. He visited the PC before the recent Raw Reunion special and ended up producing the debut match of an NXT Star.

The former WWE star revealed that it was his third or fourth time visiting the PC and he loved it there. He had asked Triple H to let him work with the big guys and claimed that it’s just a different style to teach a big guy compared to a high flyer.

Apart from this, Scott Hall also talked about Shawn Michaels’ class at the performance center, the appointment of the new Executive Directors for Raw and SmackDown and more.
