View Full Version : Naomichi Marufuji Returning To Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling has struck a deal to bring Naomichi Marufuji back to the promotion. Marufuji has been announced for Impact’s October 20th PPV, Bound For Glory. The company announced the news through their social media channels yesterday.

Marufuji wrestled in 5 matches for Impact Wrestling in July of 2017. He wrestled on the Slammiversary PPV on July 2nd, 2017 and then competed on the promotion’s TV tapings that week. He unsuccessfully challenged Moose for the promotion’s Grand Championship during this period as well.

Marufuji is one of the most decorated wrestlers in Pro Wrestling NOAH history. He is a former 3x GHC Heavyweight Champion, 6x GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, and 1x GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion.

His tag team with KENTA was voted the best tag team of the year by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter in 2003 and 2004. Marufuji is also a former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion in NJPW and won the Super J-Cup in 2009.
