Drew McIntyre underwent an operation to fix a lingering injury recently and the former NXT Champion has been out of action due to it.
The latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter provides some more update on McIntyre and it reveals that in addition to the injury Drew was also very sick before his hiatus.
According to reports, the former Champion did not tell anyone about his sickness. He kept it to himself and continued to work through it.
The former NXT Star last wrestled on the August 26th episode of Raw where he lost to Ricochet and he was so sick that day that he could barely get out of the bed.
Drew suffered the mentioned injury during his recent tour of Mexico. The Officials told him to go for a medical examination after he returned and the doctor ordered the surgery just three hours after the examination.
While there is no word yet on how long the Chosen One will stay out of action, he isn’t expected to stay away from the ring for a long while.
The idea behind his surgery was said to be to get the procedure out of the way so the Raw Star can be ready for the WrestleMania season and they can start the build for his feud leading to the Show Of Shows.
Now it would be interesting to see if Drew McIntyre finally gets the push he has been rumored for from a while now once he returns, and who ends up being his WrestleMania opponent.
