There are changes coming to how WWE presents NXT’s big Takeover events. As previously reported, there will be no Takeover Royal Rumble weekend in January as it will be replaced by a WWE Worlds Collide event instead. According to a recent report from the Wrestling Observer, Takeover events will not be on the same weekend as big WWE shows moving forward.

“Right now the plan is for Takeovers not to be the same weekend as the big shows and WWE has said that the new Takeover schedule will be out soon,” wrote Dave Meltzer. The report would continue to speculate if WWE would put Takeover events head-to-head against AEW PPVs.

While the schedule for Takeover events in 2020 has yet to be finalized, WWE and Full Sail University have announced that NXT’s weekly show will remain in the venue. The school and WWE sent out a press release recently which highlighted the benefit NXT provides to the school and its students.

“In addition, the partnership has resulted in hundreds of hours of practical production experience for more than 1,200 students, multiple career networking opportunities for students and grads, and WWE has granted more than $400,000 in scholarships to Full Sail University students, which are applied toward the recipient’s areas of study within the university. The partnership will continue to deliver real-world experience to students in all facets of broadcasting and television.”
