The viewership numbers are in for Friday’s edition of WWE SmackDown on FOX from Detroit, Michigan at Little Caesars Arena.

SmackDown averaged 2.431 million viewers, according to ShowbuzzDaily. This is up from the 2.395 viewers that the show did for last week’s episode of SmackDown on FOX.

The show averaged 2.439 million viewers in the fast nationals, which was up from the 2.415 million viewers a week ago. This number measured the top metered markets.

The first hour drew 2.540 million viewers while the second hour did 2.337 million viewers. For comparison, the first show of last week’s show did 2.493 million viewers while the second hour did 2.336 million viewers.

SmackDown pulled in a 0.70 in the 18-49 demos, the same rating as last week’s show.

This episode was expected to see its viewership drop a little bit as it served as an episode during Christmas week that historically sees a drop in ratings.

Matches that took place on this show included Braun Strowman & The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) defeated Cesaro, Sami Zayn & Shinsuke Nakamura in a six-man tag team match, Carmella defeats Mandy Rose, Bayley & Sasha Banks defeated Dana Brooke & Lacey Evans, and in the headliner, Daniel Bryan defeats King Corbin and The Miz in a WWE Universal Title #1 Contendership Triple Threat Match.

WWE is expecting to see an increase in viewership for the following episode this coming Friday night as that show will be back to normal and won’t have to case as big of bowl games from college football.

The next episode will also feature the fact that WWE won’t be scaling back as they typically have a slow period during this time before going full gear towards the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event next month and build up programs for that show.
