Bruce Campbell has been a busy bee. his cameo in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is most likely complete due to some cryptic clues that Campbell Tweeted. Now, Campbell has spilled the evil beans and let us know that the next Evil Dead film, titled Evil Dead Rise will take place in New Zealand.
“it’s out of the woods.” Campbell told Knox News.
That means that the next entry in the franchise will take place in the woods as well as an urban setting. Last year, Campbell had spilled earlier evil beans that said that the Evil Dead Rise will take place in the city and that the deadites would be fully unleashed.
Now, this means that the next film will follow in the footsteps of Ash Vs. Evil Dead which was also filmed in New Zealand. The aesthetic worked, even when the team had to build the original cabin that that Ash and Co. had to revisit to thwart off the deadites.
Any bit of news we can get for Evil Dead Rise is indeed exciting. Outside of this not much about the plot of the film is known at this point other than that director of The Hole in the Ground and 50 States of Fright will direct with Raimi, Rob Tapert and Campbell on as producers.
