It has been over a month since Damian Priest wrestled on WWE programming. His last match was a victory over John Morrison in a lumberjack match on the May 17th edition of RAW. The night before he had defeated the Miz in a zombie-lumberjack match at WrestleMania Backlash.

According to comments made by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Priest’s absence is due to injury His status was addressed during a mailbag segment on the show. It appears that Priest has been battling a bad back since WrestleMania and is currently taking time off for it.

“Bad back, right? He’s injured,” said Dave Meltzer when asked about Priest’s status.

“He had the bad back at WrestleMania, actually,” said Bryan Alvarez.

“He worked the match but it was still a bad back,” Meltzer responded.

Priest has never been defeated in a singles match on the main roster. His only loss came in a handicap match against the Miz and John Morrison back in April.

Priest has wrestled 13 matches on the main roster (11 on RAW, 2 on PPV) and holds a 12-1 record.

The 38-year-old made his main roster debut in the Royal Rumble this year, entering in at #14.
