WWE was interested in signing Moose before the Impact wrestling star decided to re-sign with his current promotion earlier this year, according to the latest reports. Per reports from FightFul Select, the company was interested in signing the former Football star when his contract was approaching its expiration date earlier this summer.

Officials were considering Moose for both NXT and the main roster. There was even talk of the self-proclaimed TNA world champion skipping his NXT run in favor of an early debut on Raw or SmackDown. Though they could not make an offer to him as Impact made a huge play and got him to re-sign before WWE could officially negotiate with him.

This isn’t the first time we are hearing about the company’s interest in Moose. There were reports of the officials considering him after his departure from Ring Of Honor in 2016. Though the promotion backed off at the time due to past allegations of domestic violence against the star. He then ended up signing with Impact wrestling and has been one of their top stars since.

Moose signed a new two-year contract with Impact wrestling earlier this year. His new deal is said to be a ‘significant improvement’ over his previous contract. He is locked with his current promotion through the Summer of 2023.
