Another week, another WWE event where fans and talent were wondering whether Vince McMahon would be backstage at Friday’s WWE SmackDown.
For now, WWE talent and staff will still get to deal with Triple H running creative, but McMahon will have the final say on creative going forward. McMahon was last backstage at a WWE event for the Raw after WrestleMania 39, where he made changes before and during the show.
Pwinsider.com reports the WWE Chairman was not backstage at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, for the broadcast on FOX. However, that doesn’t mean he didn’t have an impact on the creative for the show.
Per the report, McMahon did go over the creative plans for the show, and he did make some changes to it. However, the report stated that they had heard differing versions as to how deep those changes were.
There are some still waiting to see whether McMahon begins to attend TV events that are close to the Northeast. For now, the hope among some is that Triple H will remain the point person in charge of the events so they won’t have to deal with him in person.
McMahon did the same thing for last week’s SmackDown and this week’s Raw but didn’t make any big changes to the script.
