Cody Rhodes may not have 'finished the story' at WrestleMania, but the American Nightmare recently reached a monumental milestone.

At WrestleMania 39: Night Two, Rhodes came up short against Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in a controversial main event. Detractors of the match's finish have said that this was Cody's time and have called out Reigns' victory thanks to outside interference as repetitive.

Fans have not seen Cody Rhodes in the ring on TV since his loss, but the American Nightmare has now reached a milestone in his career. During a WWE Live Event at Rio Rancho, Cody opened the show and informed the fans that he was not medically cleared to compete.

Cody's introduction to the event was interrupted by Imperium, whose beatdown on Rhodes was ended by Kevin Owens and Matt Riddle. This set up the show's six-man-tag main event, which also marked Rhodes' 1,500th match as a WWE Superstar. The trio of Rhodes, Owens, and Riddle emerged victorious, but there is no word on why Sami Zayn didn't team with his partner and Rhodes.

Cody has reached his 1500th match with WWE, but his 1501st could be his most difficult. Unless Rhodes competes before WWE Backlash on May 6, the 1501st match will likely be against Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar attacked Rhodes on the post-WrestleMania edition of Raw, marking Brock's first heel run since returning to WWE in 2021. Cody issued a challenge to Lesnar for a match at Backlash during this week's Raw, which Brock will respond to on tomorrow's episode.
