Big E has provided an update on his health one year after breaking his neck on the March 11, 2022 edition of WWE SmackDown.

He sustained what's known as a Jefferson fracture (a fracture of the C1 vertebrae) and also fractured his C2. Thankfully, he was able to avoid neck fusion surgery, which could have ended his in-ring career.

Big E has kept fans apprised of his condition and has stated on several occasions that he feels extremely fortunate to be pain-free after such a serious injury.

His in-ring future remains unknown and he's been saying that he'll have a better idea of where things stand after his big doctor visit '1 year' after the injury.

The former WWE Champion appeared on the Battleground Podcast this week and revealed that he's now undergone that check-up, which happened a little later than expected due to WrestleMania season.

Big E tells the Battleground Podcast that he's still awaiting the results of his one-year scans. He still needs to sit down with his doctors and get their opinion on whether or not he can wrestle again.

He has no functional issues and he was back in the gym two weeks after he broke his neck. However, it all comes down to what his doctors tell him after he's had a chance to review the 1-year scans.

He understands that even though he feels great and is able to live a 'normal' life, that doesn't mean he'll be cleared to get back in the ring. It's one thing to be pain-free, it's another thing to endure the rigors of being in the ring week after week.

We will continue monitoring Big E's situation.
