Reports before WrestleMania 39 suggested that Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler were originally panned to win the Women’s Tag Team Chmapionship. However, these plans had to be put on hold due to Rousey’s forearm injury.

Rousey, who wrestled at WrestleMania, wasn't fit to compete due to her injury, which continues to keep her out of action. The original plan was for Rousey and Baszler to go after the Women's Tag Team Championship, eventually winning the title. But recent booking changes saw Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez win the titles on the April 10 episode of Raw.

Dave Meltzer shared an update regarding the Women's Tag Team Championship on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, explaining that their title runs are put on hold because Rousey isn't ready to return to the ring.

"The Rousey & Baszler chase of the women's tag title is on hold because Rousey is still out of action with her broken forearm. She did WrestleMania because it was WrestleMania in Los Angeles, but was clearly not ready and still isn't ready to return."

It was also noted that Rousey’s mentality regarding her injury is carefree. Even though her body was not 100% ready, she still wanted to perform at WrestleMania. It was said that Rousey has taken this from her mother, AnnMaria De Mars, who was a judoka and didn’t back down from a commitment when it came to real sports.

“It was noted to us that her mentality regarding the injury was basically, ‘F*** it,’ she’s doing WrestleMania no matter what, basically because of her mentality from both herself and her mom regarding competing in real sports while injured.”
