The WWE Women's Tag Team Championships have been vacated due to Liv Morgan's injury, the company has confirmed.

This week's Raw was supposed to see Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez put their titles on the line against Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville. That match had to be scrapped due to Morgan's injury, and fans instead saw Rodriguez defeat Green in singles action. On Twitter, WWE announced that the titles have been vacated due to Morgan's injury, which is believed to have happened during a match with Dakota Kai and Bayley of Damage CTRL, a new champion will be crowned during the May 29, episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.

One of four teams will emerge from the May 29, episode of Raw as the new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. It has been confirmed that Deville and Green will be one of the teams in a four-way for the titles, as will Bayley and IYO SKY. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler will also be in the match. Raquel Rodriguez will hope to become a three-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion and she will team with a mystery partner.

Of all the teams involved, Rousey and Baszler have to be considered the favorites to win. Since last December, there have been talks of the two having a run with the titles, which was expected to begin at WrestleMania 39. Rousey's aggravated arm injury led to WWE postponing plans for a title change, and Rousey was instead one of eight women in the Women's Tag Team Showcase. On this week's Raw, Rousey and Baszler returned to TV, attacking then-champion Rodriguez, a clear sign that they still want the gold.
