A new championship design could appear as soon as tonight's episode of SmackDown on FOX, which will air from in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Tonight's SmackDown will be the fallout episode for the blue brand following an explosive Night of Champions event in Jeddah. Tonight's show will see a celebration of Roman Reigns, who reached 1,000 days as WWE Universal Champion last Saturday. Despite the milestone, Reigns is likely to be in a foul mood tonight, after he and Solo Sikoa failed to capture the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships in Jeddah. The Night of Champions main event saw The Bloodline's implosion continue, with Jimmy Uso superkicking the Tribal Chief twice.

Reigns has dominated as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, which since WrestleMania 38 has been represented by him holding two championship titles. Fightful Select reports that several memos were sent out yesterday within WWE, regarding the 1,000-day celebration of the Tribal Chief. The memos included the mention of a “New WWE Universal Championship.”

In the early creative notes for the show, it was noted that there will be a podium where the new championship will be unveiled. The presentation was described as the presentation as being similar to when The Rock revealed the new WWE Championship in 2013. WWE has not publicly confirmed that a new championship title will be revealed during tonight's episode of SmackDown.

Tonight's event will see two Money in the Bank Qualifying matches. Montez Ford will face LA Knight for the third spot in the Men's Ladder match, with the winner joining Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura. The LWO's Zelina Vega will face Lacey Evans for a spot in the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
