A major tag team split in WWE might be on the horizon, even though the team has recently become tag team champions. This surprising development could cause some shake ups in the landscape of WWE's women's division.

During the May 29 episode of Raw, a four-way match took place to determine the new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions after the titles were vacated due to Liv Morgan's injury. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler emerged victorious in the match, finally capturing the tag team championships. This win came after initial plans to have them win the titles at WrestleMania had to be scrapped due to Rousey's injury at the time.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE's intention was to get the titles on Rousey and Baszler quickly because they have a specific story they want to tell. However, there is a potential obstacle on the horizon as Rousey is expected to take time off in the future. This necessitates the need to execute their storyline before her departure.

Meltzer also revealed that Rousey and Baszler had pitched the idea of forming a tag team, but with the added twist of having them potentially work a heated program with each other. While it's not yet confirmed if this is the immediate plan, Rousey's influence and interest in the concept suggest that it may very well come to fruition.

For Rousey, this marks her first time holding the tag team championship, while Baszler has previously held the title twice with Nia Jax as her partner.

Despite her recent accomplishment in WWE, the 'Baddest Woman on the Planet' is far from satisfied, as indicated by her recent remarks.

In a recent interview for the New York Post, Rousey expressed her growing frustration with the lack of competition within the company. She desires to defend the women's tag titles on a regular basis, but the main obstacle she faces is getting WWE to prioritize and invest in the division. Rousey candidly stated:

"The lack of competition is really the problem. With how dismally shallow the women's division is right now, there's not enough women around here to keep us busy for a month."
