Roman Reigns is having a run for the ages. Having surpassed 1,000 days as Universal Champion, the Tribal Chief was recently bestowed the new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. It's an impressive reign, but his title defenses have been few and far between as of late.

It's been over two months since Reigns defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but that will soon change. His next title defense, his first since WrestleMania 39, takes place this weekend.

This Saturday, June 17, Reigns will put his gold on the line against multi-time World champion and WWE Hall of Famer, Rey Mysterio. The title bout will take place at the (non-televised) WWE live event from Cincinnati, Ohio at the Heritage Bank Center.

Since defeating Cody Rhodes on April 2 at WrestleMania Night Two , Reigns has only competed in one other match. At Night of Champions, Reigns and Solo Sikoa challenged Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships. Zayn and Owens retained, but the real drama came after the match, when the Usos attacked Reigns and finally split from The Bloodline.

WWE recently announced Roman Reigns' summer schedule, which will see him competing at 10 events through SummerSlam on August 5.

Most of these dates are SmackDown television tapings, but there are a few special non-televised appearances (including this weekend) along with two premium live events: Money in the Bank on July 1 (London, UK) and SummerSlam on August 5 (Detroit).

Ahead of Reigns' first defense of the new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, WWE has uploaded this playlist of first-time title defenses:
