There have been reports of contract negotiations between AEW and The Elite. We have an update on the situation.

The Elite’s AEW contract status has been widely speculated for months as it’s been reported that Adam Page, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega are all in the middle of negotiating new deals with the company.

Page and the AEW EVP’s have been with the company since its inception in 2019. They have been an integral part of the promotion. It has come to light that they are yet to extend their current deals.

A new report from Fightful Select suggests that no deal has been reached as of earlier this week. Sources indicate that both sides feel a deal is “close,” which has been said for quite some time now and has not changed much.

The report also mentioned the ongoing tension between the group and CM Punk. AEW President Tony Khan officially announced that Punk will be making his return to the company on the June 17th debut of Collision.

Punk was suspended from the promotion after his bold post-show comments and involvement in the alleged backstage fight at the infamous All Out Pay-Per-View. Meanwhile, reports stated that the two-time AEW World Champion has been pitching ideas that would make his return possible, including a feud with The Elite, due to the real-life heat.

According to Fightful, there is no update on whether willingness has changed on either side, but creative plans have been in place for all men for quite some time.

Additionally, the reports said that WWE sources indicated to Fightful that while there would “absolutely” be interest in all four men if they were to become free agents, WWE are “nowhere near being legally able to talk to any of them.”

Sources close to The Young Bucks reportedly denied rumors that the Jacksons had reached out to WWE last year.

According to Fightful, most within AEW expect a new deal to be reached and for all four men to sign at significantly more money.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter had previously reported that the company was becoming “more aggressive” to secure new deals with each of the members of The Elite. Tony Khan will not be happy to lose the top stars of the company and will try to secure new deals with them as early as possible.

We will have to wait and see what the future holds for The Elite.
