Drew McIntyre made a grand return to WWE at Saturday's Money in the Bank premium live event from London, England. The Scottish Warrior hit the ring after Gunther's successful Intercontinental title defense. After a brief physical altercation, Gunther was left laying while McIntyre hoisted the coveted IC title above his head.

Prior to Money in the Bank, McIntyre had been off television for approximately three months. During this time, it was reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that McIntyre and WWE were negotiating the terms of a new contract but were unable to reach an agreement.

Triple H was asked about this situation during the Money in the Bank post-show press conference and scoffed at the 'rumors and innuendo.'

Here's the latest update, courtesy of PWInsider:

Drew McIntyre has yet to sign a new WWE contract.
The two sides have not even begun negotiations yet, in part because there's still at least six months left on his current deal, which is set to expire in early 2024.
WWE has wanted McIntyre back for a while, but that process was held up because McIntyre wanted a strong storyline in place in order for him to return.
McIntyre was convinced to appear at Money in the Bank just days before the PPV.

McIntyre is scheduled to be at tonight's WWE Raw from Baltimore, MD to continue his program with Gunther. The two are expected to battle next month at SummerSlam.
