IMPACT Wrestling held a couple shows in Wagga Wagga, Australia last week. They put on two shows in four days that saw wrestlers like Deonna Purrazzo, Gisele Shaw, Eddie Edwards, and Robbie Eagles in action.

One week before their big Slammiversary pay-per-view, IMPACT wrestling was hit by the injury bug again. On Saturday, it was announced that former IMPACT World Champion, Steve Maclin was injured on the tour and he will be forced to miss Slammiversary.

Maclin faced current world champion, Alex Shelley, on June 30 in a rematch for the title. It's unclear what type of injury he suffered. Maclin won the IMPACT World Championship after Josh Alexander injured his triceps and had surgery. He relinquished the title, which set up Maclin vs. KUSHIDA at Rebellion in April. Maclin held the title until dropping it to Shelley last month at Against All Odds.

The former champion was scheduled to team up with Bully Ray against PCO and Scott D'Amore in a Special Grudge Match with former NHL star, Darren McCarty, as the Special Enforcer. The match will still happen with someone replacing Maclin. The replacement will be announced on Monday, July 10 on Busted Open.

IMPACT put out a statement via Santino Marella:

“First and foremost, everyone at IMPACT Wrestling wishes Steve Maclin a full and speedy recovery,” said Santino Marella, IMPACT Director of Authority. “Whoever Bully Ray brings aboard as his new tag team partner will step into a violent fight, that’s for sure. PCO is fearless and nearly unstoppable; Scott D’Amore is bent on revenge against Bully Ray, so any new partner for Bully Ray also will feel the wrath of D’Amore and his 30 years of pro wrestling knowledge.”

With little known about Maclin's injury, it is unknown how long he will be out of action.
