Chris Hero hasn't competed in an official match in years, but AEW/ROH President Tony Khan is looking to change that.

Hero is a true veteran of the wrestling industry, having made his debut in the business in late 1998. He has worked in multiple promotions, including PWG, ROH, CZW, Pro-Wrestling NOAH, and Chikara to name just a few. Hero also had two stints in WWE where he competed as Kassius Ohno in WWE NXT and NXT UK.

Last month, it was reported that Hero had signed with AEW as a coach for the promotion and has also been working on things behind the scenes for Ring of Honor. With a large legion of fans, many are hoping that Hero will one day compete on programming for either of Tony Khan's promotions. When Khan was asked by a fan to book Hero, he said he is "chipping away" at the ex Superstar. In a subsequent tweet, Khan said he's not sure if Hero will ever agree to a match, but he's working on it, and no matter what, enjoys working with the self-described Knockout Artist.

Hero hasn't competed in an official match since the March 7, 2020 tapings for NXT UK, in which he competed in a battle royale won by Ilja Dragunov. His most recent singles match took place the previous day, and saw Hero defeat Kenny Williams by submission. The former WWE NXT Superstar recently refuted the idea that he is retired from the ring and vowed that he will wrestle again one day.
