The highly-anticipated Peacock documentary about Cody Rhodes finally has a release date.

American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes premieres Monday, July 31 on Peacock. The promotional tagline reads:

"Unfiltered. Unedited. Untouchable. Witness Cody Rhodes Become the American Nightmare."

From the trailer, we see the documentary will cover his entire career as a pro wrestler, with the backdrop of Cody being the son of the legendary Dusty Rhodes. Wrestling luminaries who provide commentary include The Undertaker, Triple H, Ric Flair, Brandi Rhodes, Kevin Owens.

Peacock's Cody Rhodes documentary has been in development for quite some time. Prior to WrestleMania 39, Rhodes appeared on the Rich Eisen show and said the project seemed never-ending, since he was being followed around by the camera crew for so long.

"Well, I have what I'd say is an adversarial relationship with this crew that's on the other side of your cameras," Rhodes said. "Peacock has been shooting a documentary on me that is what I kind of dubbed 'The Documentary That Has No Ending.' They just keep filming, keep shooting."

Rhodes said he believed the documentary covered his journey through his Royal Rumble victory in January 2023, but said Peacock's camera crew was still following him around through the Rich Eisen podcast appearance in late March.
