This week's SmackDown will emanate from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The show will be the fall-out episode of the blue brand following last weekend's SummerSlam Premium Live Event.
During this week's episode of Raw, a promo aired advertising a 'Hail to the Chief' segment for Roman Reigns following his victory at SummerSlam. The Biggest Party of the Summer went off the air with Reigns retaining his championship and status as the Tribal Chief against Jey Uso. The match saw Jimmy Uso return and cost his brother the match. It has been advertised that Jimmy will be acknowledging the Tribal Chief this Friday on SmackDown.
The Tribal Chief's triumphant return to SmackDown will be just part of a stacked two-hour SmackDown in Calgary. This Friday's show will also see AJ Styles face Karrion Kross in the latest encounter in their lengthy feud. SmackDown will also see Santos Escobar challenge U.S. Champion Austin Theory. The LWO member earned a title match against Theory by winning the U.S. Championship Invitational. Rey Mysterio suffered a legitimate injury during this match but is said to now be doing fine.
