Jey Uso stunningly quit WWE in the closing moments of this week's episode of SmackDown on FOX.

The August 11, 2023, edition of the Blue Brand saw WWE return to Calgary in the first episode following SummerSlam 2023. On the show, Rey Mysterio defeated Austin Theory to win the WWE United States Championship, filling in for the injured Santos Escobar.

In the closing moments of the show, Jimmy Uso explained why he betrayed his brother at SummerSlam in Tribal Combat. Jimmy said he did not want his brother to become Tribal Chief and become a tyrant akin to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

As Jimmy was leaving the ringside area, Jey attacked Reigns and Solo Sikoa, earning an ovation from the fans in Calgary. Jimmy, seeing this, returned to ringside and offered his brother a hug, only to be leveled with a superkick. After this, Jey declared to the camera that he is out of the Bloodline, out of SmackDown, and out of WWE.

While Jey may have quit WWE, don't expect the former Tag Team Champion to be gone for good. WWE has already been discussing a match pitting brother against brother, but are undecided on when such a match will take place. While there have been calls for the bout to take place at WrestleMania 40, many feel that April 2024 is too long to wait for this match to happen.

I don't think The Uso's are scheduled to appear this week on Smackdown. Reigns is not. May have to wait a couple of weeks for this intriguing development to get updates.
