Ronda Rousey's time with WWE may be over, but fans should not expect the former Raw & SmackDown Women's Champion back in the Octagon.

At WWE SummerSlam 2023, Rousey lost the first MMA Rules match to Shayna Baszler and hasn't been seen on WWE programming since. In the weeks prior to SummerSlam, it was reported that Rousey would be finishing her time with the promotion. Rousey's feud with Baszler was said to be a parting gift from Rousey to her real-life friend, ensuring a prominent feud and TV time to Baszler who had helped Rousey make the transition from MMA to WWE.

Following reports of her exit from WWE, rumors grew that Rousey would soon be returning to WWE. UFC fighter Chelsea Chandler even stated that she had heard of Rousey' return once her time with WWE was over, but this was later refuted. Speaking with Sports Illustrated, UFC President Dana White was asked about Rousey possibly returning at UFC 300, which is expected in March 2024.

“There’s no shot. She’s accomplished everything she set out to do. Her dream was to win a UFC championship, then win a WWE championship, and she’s done it. Now she’s starting a family. Ronda has made so much money, and she’s still making a lot of money in sponsorships.”

Rousey made a name for herself in UFC with her dominant victories over other women before a series of back-to-back losses to Holly Holm in November 2015 and Amanda Nunes in December 2016.

Rousey has kept a low profile since her apparent departure from WWE. In that time though, it has been announced that the former Women's Champion is working on her second memoir which is due to release in April 2024.
