Bryan Danielson is back on AEW programming and already has a match lined up for tonight's AEW All Out pay-per-view.

During June's AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door event, Danielson defeated Kazuchika Okada in the show's instant classic of a main event. During the post-show media scrum, Danielson disclosed that he suffered a fractured forearm injury during the match which has kept him out of action ever since.

During this week's AEW Collision, Ricky Starks confronted Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat and challenged him to a strap match at All Out. The wrestling legend seemingly agreed to a match, even producing a contract between Starks and 'The Dragon.'

It was only after Starks signed, that Steamboat revealed he wasn't the 'Dragon' in question, but that the match would be against the 'American Dragon' Bryan Danielson.

Danielson's return to programming sees him replace CM Punk, who was released from AEW shortly before Collision went on the air. The initial plan had been for Punk to defend the 'Real World Championship' against Starks. Prior to Danielson's return, it was said that AEW was confident that the alternative plans for Starks at All Out would go down well with fans, and potentially be even better received than the planned Starks-Punk match.
