Matt Riddle was not present during this week's episode of Monday Night Raw due to an illness it has been claimed.
The September 11, 2023 edition of Monday Night Raw saw the Superstars of the Red brand continue the build toward next month's Fastlane Premium Live Event. Shinsuke Nakamura vowed that he will challenge World Heavyweight Champion Seth 'Freakin' Rollins again but that it will be when he chooses to. In the main event, Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley retained her title against Raquel Rodriguez, but both were attacked by the returning Nia Jax.
One name who was conspicuous by his absence during Monday Night Raw was Matt Riddle. The Original Bro has been a topic of discussion since he alleged that he was sexually assaulted by an employee at JFK International Airport.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed Riddle's absence from Raw and stated that an illness kept the former U.S. Champion off the show.
"He was not on the show this week, but that’s because he had a double ear infection and bronchitis. It was not punishment as far as I know."
Riddle has been pulled from this weekend's WWE live events in Idaho and Washington.
Riddle has deleted his Instagram post in which he claimed to have been sexually assaulted at JFK Airport. Sources at the scene who spoke to TMZ claimed that Riddle seemed apologetic at the time, which made his subsequent allegation more bizarre. Port Authority police have launched an internal investigation into the incident, saying they take such claims very seriously.
