Nia Jax is back with WWE and the former Raw Women's Champion has been under contract for some time.

Jax returned to programming during this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, interrupting the Women's World Championship match between Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez. After attacking Rodriguez, which helped Ripley get the win, Jax would attack the champion and end the show standing tall over the Judgment Day member.

Fightful Select reports that Jax has been signed with WWE for over a month and that the pre-existing 'hiring freeze' effectively ended this summer. That freeze saw WWE avoid hiring or rehiring talent as they prepared for their acquisition by Endeavor and merger with UFC to be finalized. The WWE-Endeavor deal is set to be finalized this week, but Fightful was told that this is unrelated to her return to programming.

Jax is the first signing made since Vince McMahon, WWE's Executive Chairman forced his way back into the company in early 2023. Jax made a one-off return to WWE as part of this year's Women's Royal Rumble match, and despite a new shirt being made, did not stick around.

Debuting in WWE NXT in 2015, Jax would be called up to the main roster the following year. In 2018, Jax would win the Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania 34, and would also become a two-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion. The Irresistible Force was released in 2021, and while she would be announced for the doomed Wrestling Entertainment Series event, pulled out before the show was officially canceled
