Quincy Elliott caused quite a few headaches as part of WWE NXT, prior to their release from the promotion this week.

Elliott was among many names released from WWE this week, mere days after over 100 employees were fired from WWE's offices in Stamford. These cuts to the main roster and NXT had been expected following the launch of TKO Group Holdings.

Fightful Select reports that Elliott had repeatedly caused a number of headaches for the company due to a variety of social media controversies. WWE coaches also felt that Elliott's in-ring development had not improved at a necessary rate.

Elliott competed a total of 27 times with WWE, with their most recent match coming at an August 19, live event in Tampa in a losing effort to fellow-releasee Ikeman Jiro. Elliott's most recent match on TV was on a July 2023, episode of NXT LVL UP with their most recent TV victory happening in October of last year.

Fightful's report added that like Elliott, Shanky hadn't shown sufficient progress in the ring which played a factor in his release. Despite competing at the recent Superstar Spectacle, Shanky was not considered for the reformed Indus Sher and never had any concrete plans under Triple H.

Aliyah is another name to be released this week after eight years with the promotion. Much of Aliyah's time was spent in NXT before being called up to the main roster in 2021. Fightful reports that Aliyah hadn't been factored into creative plans for over a year. It was added that Aliyah was not dealing with an injury but wasn't being considered for a role on television.
