A move used by Shinsuke Nakamura on this week's Raw has once again had fans convinced that CM Punk's return to WWE is happening.
Punk was cut from AEW last month due to his role in the backstage altercation at AEW All In inside Wembley Stadium, less than a year after the All Out 2022 situation. Last week, it was reported that Punk is in talks with WWE about a return.
The belief is that Punk will have to make amends with several top Superstars who do not want him back. It is also believed that with his bridges with AEW burned, he will not have the same 'leverage' when negotiating that he would have had just a few months ago.
During this week's Raw, Shinsuke Nakamura attacked Ricochet during the latter's entrance. Nakamura, irate at not becoming WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Fastlane, would assault Ricochet on the stage before hitting the GTS.

Punk used the GTS for years in WWE, a move that he stole from KENTA. The Japanese star would not be allowed to use the move for years in WWE when he worked as Hideo Itami and has often spoken out against Punk.
This may be the most direct tease of a CM Punk return fans have seen so far, but is hardly the first. In recent weeks, several segments on WWE TV have led fans to suspect that the promotion is teasing the return of the former AEW World Champion.
During a recent episode of Raw, Seth Rollins referred to himself as the 'Best in the World,' the same line Punk has often used. When hyping WWE Fastlane, Corey Graves used the line “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making the world forget that he existed.” While many took this as a nod to Punk, who used the line during a Ring of Honor promo, Graves reminded fans on Twitter that not everything is about pro-wrestling.
