Brian Pillman Jr. is coming to WWE NXT, but he won't be using his real name as part of the gold brand.

Pillman left AEW earlier this year after he and the promotion could not come to terms over a new deal. It wasn't long after that it was reported that Pillman had signed a contract with WWE after being spotted at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

In recent weeks, a series of vignettes have been teasing the arrival of the second-generation Superstar. During this week's stacked edition of NXT, Pillman's face was shown in a vignette and he spoke about how fans often speak to him about his father.

Pillman then pointed out that he lost his father when he was four years old and doesn't want fans to think of Brian Pillman when they see him in the ring. Stating that he is nobody's 'junior', Pillman said he will now go by the name of the man who really raised him, King.

The King name will likely be just part of the name Brian Pillman Jr. uses as a WWE NXT Superstar. Earlier this month, WWE filed a trademark for the name 'Lexis King' and it is believed this will be Pillman's name going forward.

While Lexis King doesn't want fans thinking of his father when they see him wrestle, this name will still be a tribute to his family. The King part of the name comes from Brian Pillman Jr.'s sister Skylar King. The Lexis part comes from Pillman's sister Alexis, who died in a car accident in 2009. She was 26 years old. When Pillman made his in-ring debut in 2017, he competed as Alex King in a tribute to his sisters.
