Vince McMahon, Executive Chairman of WWE, UFC, and the PGA Tour? It was closer to becoming a reality than you'd might think.

A new report by The Hollywood Reporter indicates that Ari Emanuel and the newly formed TKO Group put in a bid to buy the company. Emanuel confirmed the news during an appearance at the Bloomberg Screentime conference.

“We put in a bid,” Emanuel said of an attempt to buy the PGA Tour. “It’s one of the great sports. I love it. You know, I think we could add to it what we’ve added to all of our sports. You can’t buy the majority.”

The Hollywood Reporter report indicates that TKO Group attempted to buy 10% of the company under the condition that the PGA Tour would pay his business $25 million a year.

Ari Emanuel's Endeavor media owns various entertainment entities outside of WWE and UFC including the Pro Bull Riders league. They've maintained an interest in expanding their entertainment and live event footprint.

The TKO Group officially formed in September of this year and consists of the UFC and McMahon's WWE as a merged entity. Emanuel has flexed his muscle as CEO of the company and has reportedly removed Vince McMahon from having any creative input or power with WWE storylines or programming.

The merger between UFC and WWE marks the first time that a McMahon doesn't have full control over the WWE as a company and product.
