Several WWE Superstars are still waiting to be approached about a new contract despite their current deals being set to expire relatively soon.

WWE has several contracts coming up in 2024, Fightful Select reports, but the promotion is in no rush to re-sign Superstars. This pool of talent includes "several top stars" has not been approached for contract extensions despite their deals expiring next year. WWE signed dozens of five-year deals in 2019, which at the time many saw as WWE attempting to keep wrestlers away from the recently launched All Elite Wrestling. WWE has since signed shorter-term deals that are also due to come to an end in 2024.

Many Superstars who spoke to Fightful said that they believe the recent acquisition by Endeavor will kickstart a lot of the contract talks. Several of them are waiting to see what the offers are like when that happens, but it hasn't happened yet. While there have been "a few negotiations here and there," this has usually been with talent who approach WWE for raises.

The Superstars have been left speculating what this delayed response to their contracts expiring means for their long-term future. It remains to be seen if the deals presented will be increased, decreased, or on par with their previous deals since the merger.

One name whose contract is coming up is Drew McIntyre, which was widely reported earlier this year. While many saw his return at WWE Money in the Bank as a sign that a new deal was reached, Dave Meltzer confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio that the Scottish Superstar is yet to sign a new deal. McIntyre will challenge WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth 'Freakin' Rollins at WWE Crown Jewel on November 4.
