WWE SmackDown has seen a spike in advertising revenue over the previous year, thanks to an increased price to promote during the show.

The cost of advertising SmackDown has increased, according to a report from AdAge. To advertise in 2022 would have cost $47,119. In 2023, it costs $51,077. This marks an increase of 8%, equivalent to $3,958.

SmackDown's advertising space is the second-most expensive according to AdAge, with only ABC's Shark Tank besting WWE's Friday night show. SharkTank advertising will set you back $54,598, but this is a sharp drop in what it used to cost. In 2022, the same advertising space cost $83,469. This marks a drop of 35%, equivalent to $28,871.

Out of the top 10 shows with expensive advertising, only SmackDown saw an increase in the costs to promote during the show. NBC's The Wall, which like SmackDown & Shark Tank airs on Friday nights, costs $50,137 to advertise during, the same amount it costs in 2022. The rest of the top ten list saw no changes or a price fall.

This Friday's SmackDown will be the go-home show ahead of WWE Crown Jewel, which will take place the following night on November 4, in Riyadh. Because of the trip to Saudi Arabia, this Friday's SmackDown was taped following last week's live edition of the blue show. The only match WWE has confirmed for the show publicly will see Bayley face Bianca Belair, 24 hours before Belair challenges WWE Women's Champion IYO SKY at Crown Jewel.
